He eats it all, its about 3 bucks a bag cheaper, and it keep him fat-one thing Safechoice couldn't ever do. I've cut his feed in half even from the Omolene and he's maintaining and looking gorgeous! My husband loves his shine! And finally Tari, since she is running open rodeo, she is on what works for her, the Omolene , fed "free choice" since she will not over indulge. She gets 2. She's a strange horse! I feed Enrich 32 to my mares, and I'm happy with it. I think a ration balancer helps keep weight on my horses better than a true feed, I guess because it fills in any holes in their nutrition.
Long story short: My old BO refused to feed my horses properly, they were thin as a rail. We moved, and put them on Healthy edge and they've both gained atleast pounds each. I can share before an after pics if you'd like, but I will never doubt the Healthy Edge and I always recommend it. It also made their coats gorgeous and shiny.
off coupon on Nutrena and Purina feed - Chronicle Forums
Ive tried everything for my nutty TB.. I really love the coupons Purina does too.. Good luck , I hope you find something that will work for you. The healthy edge not only includes the flax but also beet pulp. I used to feed my TB gelding Purina Senior. It was the only food he'd eat, and believe me, my vet and I spent a lot of time scratching our heads trying to get that boy to eat.
When I got her she was underweight and basically untouched. She loves it, and I love how well she's doing on it. I've also had great results putting just plain weight on with hi-fat hi-fibre which is now called Intergri-T. Personally I feed pretty much all purina feeds and I've had a great results.
Feed Greatness Challenge
How much do you guys pay for the Ultium growth and the omelene ? I go through a bag a week on one filly. Worth the price, imo. Ultium runs about I love Ultium But my pocketbook doesn't so i can't feed it anymore. Good luck with the switch.
I don't think you will be disapointed. So far I really like the Healthy Edge. I think I may be crazy but my palomino mare is already getting her dapples back. I bought a bag of the for the babies and got it home and it had bugs in it. I will be taking it back to see what they say though.
Anyone had any get bugs in it? I've never had a problem with bugs in the , I have however had issues with the consistency of the texture. Sometimes it would be dry as can be, other times it would be so sticky it was gross. I'm a fan of purina. Nice winter coats and so far are not showing their age at all. My senior mare did not do well on their senior feed at all, but I think it has a high molasses content, I was told "no" by the dealer, even though when I looked in the bag, it sure appeared to be quite laced with it.
Talk about inconvenient!
They're both important, but fat is more so in the area of weight gain and hard keepers. They need it for the amino acids which it supplies, for cell growth and maintenance. Protein can build and keep muscle, it can help an older, working horse stay fit, but it won't keep that meat on their bones.

It doesn't work the same way as pure, fatty fat fat does, for weight gain. ETA Emura: It's a good book, from "The Horse" health care library so, while I'm no expert, I imagine they know what they're talking about. They are not regulated, they're not clean, they're not safe. I wouldn't put anything out of those old ramshackle buildings into my horses. Greens Feed Inc. Last Bid on Ebay. Fine Pet Supplies. I Write for Cash. Purina Horse Feed. Mountain Valley.
